MSC Seascape is the latest evolution of the line's Seaside-class ships MSC Seaside and MSC Seaview that first debuted in 2017. In 2021, MSC Cruises revamped its Seaside class of ships with the launch of MSC Seashore, the first of what MSC calls its "EVO-class" vessels. As the name suggests, EVO represented an evolution for the line over the previous Seaside-class, with redesigned public spaces, better passenger-to-space ratios, and newer, more environmentally-friendly systems onboard.

Another pillar is elevated sanitation and cleaning measures, and Mr Matola emphasised, “ventilation is key, we have 100% fresh air through our HVAC system.” There will also be responsible social distancing. “We will reduce capacity on the ships, with more than 10 m2 per person in public spaces and simplify the experience for guests,” said Mr Matola. Other pillars include enhanced medical facilities, and that guests only go ashore as part of an MSC shore excursion.

“The Seaside class of ships is specially designed for Caribbean cruising, with features like pools, dining and outdoor decks located lower and close to the sea,” Rodríguez said. The aft pool has been redesigned to create an Infinity Pool, which now extends right up to the end of the ship with a glass wall offering uninterrupted views of the ocean. It will be one of the largest infinity pools at sea, offering different depths as well as sunbeds sunken into the water. The MSC Seashore cruise ship will have a total of six pools, of which the Infinity Pool will be one of the largest infinity pools at sea and stretches to the edge of the aft.
